2016 3rd Quarterly UpdateDarrin Miller- 09/26/16With the end of the year comings soon, and so many things having changed, it is a great time for me to give you all a proper update. Schreiner University: True DisciplesTo start us off, I want to tell you about something that wasn't originally on my goals list for 2016. Over the summer, as I passing by the local university here in Kerrville, I looked at my window at the campus as I was driving by, and God spoke to me, "You need to be there." So, I said, "OK, Lord." As of May, I was officially a student of Schreiner University. During the summer, the campus was more or less empty, but God was giving me time to get familiar with the location as He cultivated my desires there. In August, the fall semester began and there is no time to waste. Since August 24th, 20 students have accepted Jesus. 3 have been baptized, and 5 have been taught how to share their faith also. We have begun a new Registered Student Organization (RSO) called "True Disciples." This RSO will be devoted to strengthening the students knowledge of the Word, and teaching them to build a true relationship with our Lord. It will also be focused on training them to become leaders, that go out and train more leaders. It has been such a blessing so far, but takes so much more of my time. Please pray for us. Aim 4 The WorldUnfortunately, it seems that I will not be going over seas again this year. However, a better opportunity has presented it self and is now coming to fruition! October 6-8th, at Zion Lutheran Church, 624 Barnett St, Kerrville, TX 78028, we will be having our 1st Annual World Missions Conference! It has been a lot of work to make this happen, and I pray it is a huge "success," what ever that looks like. We will be have 5 missionaries from around the world with incredible and unique stories, as well as live worship! Opening night is Thursday the 6th, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, there will be a morning service at 10 a.m., as well as an evening service at 7 p.m. Please come join us! It will be a refreshing time for your faith. Home ChurchesIn my pursuit to see disciples making disciples, and to see the gospel diffused throughout ever corner of our community, God placed it on my heart to focus on establishing home churches. I made the goal to establish 10, but I have to admit that I haven't been as successful as I'd hoped so far. I have made progress though, glory to God. So far we have established 4 home churches, first being my own. In addition to hosting church in my home which tends to be very welcoming and organic, we have also allowed my sister-in-law Chelsea to live with us. This has been a way to get her into church, acquainted with prayer, and help build valuable skills in life. All the homes are as follows:
2 Year Bible SchoolOur very own 2 year Bible School is up and running! We are half-way through our second semester and are having a wonderful time! The men often share their enthusiasm to be here, and one of our students is Derek Beard who is running a home church. 40/40 GoalLast year God told me I needed to raise my own funds as a missionary. I was very uncomfortable with this idea, but the next day I received a phone call from Jeff Goldsberry, Director of A4TW, and he told me I was required to raise my own funds. That's called confirmation. So I established my 40/40 Goal. I am asking for 40 people to partner with me and pray for the ministry here in Kerrville, as well as 40 people to partner with me in a $50/month or more gift. We have a few monthly donors and prayer partners, but we are no where our goal. Your support means that dozens of people hear the gospel every week, Christians are becoming stronger in the word, disciples are becoming leaders, and new churches are being established. Because of you making a pledge in prayer or financial support, we are seeing mighty works including healing, demonic deliverances, and acts of repentance. Your support is also what allows my family to eat, and to maintain. This is very true. For the last two weeks, we have been eating by scraping together the last of our freezer and pantry resources, and I have been unable to purchase basic things such as deodorant, oil changes, or new tires for my vehicle which is used exhaustively in this ministry. As of today, I was blessed to receive a batch of donations that was forwarded to me, and we will be able to buy food, and at least deodorant, in addition to paying bills some small bills. I am thankful that the Lord is always faithful, and that He is pleased to use people like you to support us, and to create a family of believers here. You can make a one time or recurring donation of any amount to support my family and the ministry God has given us by clicking the button below. Please select "Darrin and Courtney Miller" under the designation tab. Please share the word of this ministry to others, and respond to this email with any questions. Go, and be blessed.
